Meet Alex

I was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in January of 2008 and began chemotherapy treatments in February. I finished treatments in August of the same year. One year later to the day, I was in New York City with my parents on my wish trip generously given to us by Magic Moments. I’m a dancer and have been since I began dancing at age 3, so naturally I fell in love with the idea of NYC and all that it can offer to a dancer like myself.

Magic Moments put us up in a lovely boutique hotel in midtown and got us a backstage tour of the incredibly famous Broadway show Wicked. I feel that my trip was formative in growing my determination to move to NYC one day and further my passion to create a career as a dancer for myself. I have now lived here in NYC for six years, graduated from New York University with a BFA in dance and choreography, and am truly living out my aspirations of being a professional dancer with exceptionally prestigious dance companies and choreographers. I owe my first experience of New York City to Magic Moments. Without it, I don’t know that I would’ve made it here as quickly as I did.
